Hot Dogs
This was hot dog, boiled in beer, nested with Sauerkraut and mustard on a bun.
It was very rare for me to eat hotdog in Japan. In fact I don't remember the last time when and where I ate one in Japan. Perhaps when I was a child, my mother used to make some for breakfast or lunch, I guess. In such vague memory, strangely what I remembered is a topping was cabbage; not Sauerkraut, but sauteed cabbage sauteed with butter. There was no mustard neither, maybe because I was a little child, and Japanese mustard is very spicy, unlike American yellow mustard, which was not for me. I don't see butter-sauteed cabbage topping for hot dog in the US. I wondered from where my mother's version came...
