Bettys Centenary Fruit Cake
Another Bettys Centenary treat that we enjoyed was Centenary Fruit Cake. The design of the tin was elegant with a lovely illustration by Emily Sutton.
The cake was gorgeously decorated with almonds, brazil nuts, glacé cherries, dried cranberries and prunes. As a classic fruit cake, the cake was packed with those nuts and fruits (except cherries and brazil nuts) as well as raisins and sultanas. Fruits were soaked in an oatmeal stout and lemon juice. The cake was gently spiced with cinnamon and nutmeg, which I didn't really taste.
The cake looked very festive and tasted delightful. I felt a Christmas came in July.
