Bachhalm Chocolate Bars
I hadn't heard about Bachhalm until J picked these chocolate bars at Julius Meinl am Graben during our recent trip to Austria. Now I know that they are a chocolate factory founded in 1928 in Kirchdorf an der Krems, a town in the Austrian state of Upper Austria. They are a family business. Currently Maitre Chocolatier Johannes F. Bachhalm represents the third generation and leads the factory. Their specialty is high-quality Grand Cru Cuvée noble chocolates, which are made from the finest raw materials by hand. His customers include European royal households. He also created an incense dark chocolate for Pope Benedict XVI. How have I missed them for so long?
We enjoyed two kinds of bars: Bachhalm Cuvee Dark Chocolate with a sumptuous note of hazelnuts, hand-sprinkled with crunchy honey-caramelized hazelnuts, and Bachhalm Cuvee White Chocolate with fruity berries. Both were delightful!
The two bars disappeared within a hour...
