Pear & Hazelnut Muffins

These were Pear and Hazelnut Muffins.

I have made so many muffins and wanted to make a new kind of muffins. I adapted a recipe of these from Smitten Kitchen. Whole wheat and a lot of oats with grated fresh pear sounded healthy and great for J's breakfast. I used Splenda, so mine were sugar free. The recipe seems to like adding chocolate chunks, but I skipped it.
Roasted hazelnuts made the muffins very nutty. A hint of nutmeg and cardamon added a little depth and complexity, which I liked. Good breakfast bites as I imagined.
