Pasta Fagioli from Di Pasquale's

This was Pasta Fagioli from Di Pasquale's and homemade salad. Plus beer for J.

The label of the soup said Pasta Fagioli. We guessed it was the same as Pasta e fagioli, meaning "pasta and beans", a traditional meatless Italian soup. Somehow the soup didn't have pasta. Yes, there were some beans. Where was pasta? Not many other ingredients either. A few chopped onions and celerys. Was the soup supposed to be like this? What are those pictures of soup bowls with generous various ingredients, including short tube pastas, that I happened to see as the image search results of Pasta e fagioli? Well, the taste wasn't bad, though. Simple and light.
