Restart & The Yorke Arms

After a few month break, I am back to blogging. Perhaps, a little slower pace than before. Let's start with our latest lunch trip to The Yorke Arms, a charming restaurant/hotel hidden in Yorkshire Dales. When we arrived at the place, the beautiful autumn color on the building wall welcomed us. The property was used to be an 18th century coaching house. Before that, a monastic cheesery was there in the eleventh century.

At the backyard, there was a nice patio, the little bridge over stream, an open green field and a garden.

We were first showed into the waiting room. We picked a couple of chairs next to the fire place and had sparkling water with lemon. It was a very cozy moment.

Our table for lunch was ready. Our dining room was "The Little Dining Room," where you can enjoy an à la carte dining experience. There is another dining room called "The Yorke Arms Restaurant," where offers you a 5 or 8-course tasting menu, by the way. The Little Dining Room was, yes, small, but pretty comfortable.

Bread was warm fluffy Focaccia and two kinds of butter: herb butter and salted plain butter.

For a starter, we both had Saffron and Squash Soup, Harissa and Sage. Smooth and gently sweet.

My main dish was Monkfish, Turmeric, Coriander, English Lobster and Sweet Potato. Lovely.

J enjoyed Slow Cooked Local Mutton, Ginger, Aromats, Citrus Flavors, Roasted Artichokes. I tasted a little. Tasty!

We shared a dessert - Pain Perdu, Caramel Mousse, Sea Buckthorn, Yoghurt Ice Cream, Crisp Rice. The mousse had an interesting texture. I liked it very much. The ice cream was refreshing.

It was a wonderful way to brighten our day up on a chilly cloudy weekend!
