Candied Japanese Chestnuts
It was another Christmas gift from my parents who know I LOVE chestnuts and I am missing chestnut sweets that I can't easily find in the US. These chestnuts - with and without inner skin that adds deep earthy flavor - were heavenly. Candied large whole Japanese chestnuts are luxuries; broken chestnuts loose their value. These perfect whole pieces must have cost a lot! I deeply appreciate my parents' generosity.
