Ox Club in Leeds

We had a weekend brunch at Ox Club in Leeds. First of all, it was somehow difficult to find the restaurant. We walked back and forth around the spot where Google Map pointed. It was a quite cold day. We were almost giving up; then, we found the place that was a bit tucked away from the street.

The brunch menu was limited but we both found something interesting. I tried Red Eye Benedict - coffee glazed ham, poached eggs, toast, bacon hollandaise. The ham certainly tasted coffee, which was tasty, while the ham was more like pulled pork BBQ. J had Flat Iron Steak & Cheddar Eggs with home fries and chipotle tomato jam. The steak was nicely done. The egg was very cheesy, J said.

According to some online sources, the restaurant was a "solid fuel grill" restaurant. I don't know about my ham, but probably J's steak was cooked on their famous grill. The interior was casual, which was ok. I wished that they could bring the room temperature up a bit, though. It was a freezing day. Their rustic concrete floor and ceiling as well as the rough brick wall next to our table didn't create a warm atmosphere.

Their kitchen must have been very warm with the grill, but obviously the heat didn't come to the dining room. It would have been wonderful if our table was next to the grill.
