Maison Georges Larnicol's Chocolate

I didn't know about Maison Georges Larnicol until recent. Originally from Brittany, the pâtissier and chocolatier Georges Larnicol seems very popular in France. With the title of Meilleur Ouvrier de France (MOF) - Best craftsman of France in the pastry chef category that he obtained in 1993, he currently has about 30 stores across France, including Paris, but surprisingly only one store outside of France, not in London, New York or Tokyo, but in Bath.

We bought a assorted chocolate box of fruit and pralines and a bag of "Grêlons" or Hailstones (pure hazelnut paste and almond chips, coated with milk chocolate). Here were also some baked goods, especially kouign amann, or very sweet and very buttery caramelized pastries - a specialty in Britany. They looked very nice, but we didn't buy any because they may not travel well or last long.

The assorted chocolate box - dark and milk chocolates, raspberries and lemon balls; seashell shaped pralines and solid dark and milk chocolates; praline eggs were amazing! We haven't tried Grêlons yet but I am very sure that they would be delicious as well. Maison Georges Larnicol has been added to my favorite chocolate brand list!
