The Feast Collection by Charlotte Brunswick

We also visited a couple of chocolate shops in Bath. One was Charlotte Brunswick that was located near Bath Abbey. J talked to a man in the shop and found out he was the chocolatier. First of all, he was not Charlotte Brunswick. Charlotte was the first and finest chocolatier in the city of Bath in the 18th century. Legend says that she was born into a family of explorers and she enjoyed experimenting with new flavors from the ingredients her father and brother brought back from the other world to make the bitter Georgian chocolate more pleasant, which made her chocolate popular across the city. Inspired by her idea and explorations, the man who was in the shop (we have never found out his name) has been making chocolates.

At that time, the theme of the shop was Christmas! Ah, the photo below happened to capture the chocolatier a little bit.

J is naturally generous. He selected the largest box of the Feast Collection to sample all flavors available! Surprisingly the illustration of the box was very similar to artworks that we saw at a shop nearby. Maybe they collaborate each other?

There were two layers in the box. According to the chocolatier's website, they use only the highest quality natural ingredients, and do not use any genetically modified ingredients, nor any artificial colors or hydrogenated vegetable fats. Generally their chocolate pieces tasted mild while I enjoyed the variety. The dark chocolates were very nice although milk chocolates were a little too sugary for me.

J also picked up this cute chocolate gingerbread man as well as two small Christmas crackers that were filled with some milk chocolate balls (the same ones that came with the gingerbread man). We opened crackers after the Christmas.

Now it's time to discuss the future of the gingerbread man...
