An-Pan with Plover "Chidori" Stamps
These were An-Pan with plover, or Chidori stamps.
Let me introduce my new tool: a cast iron Chidori stamp. I bought it from Japanese baking goods online store. Chidori is a traditional mark on Japanese sweet pastry buns, so-called Chidori-Manju.
I thought it would be cute to see a little bird on my homemade bread or pastry. After heating the stamp on stove top for about 5 minutes, it's ready! Gently press the stamp on An-Pan for a couple of seconds, and a Chidori appears. It was very very very fun to stamp on An-Pan!
I put one Chidori on An-Pan with homemade Japanese green tea "Matcha" milk white been filling.
And I put two Chidori on An-Pan with homemade vanilla milk white bean filling.
Vanilla milk white bean filling seemed to evaporate...??? Although it was invisible, I surely tasted the sweet filling around the big cavity.
The new stamp was truly enjoyable. And one more amusement was here. There was a little leftover of the dough. I made a little bunny.
He has a little tail. Now he is sleeping in J's tummy.
