Raspberry Crumble Bars

These were raspberry crumble bars.

I like buttery crumble bars with fruit preserve/jam. I usually make bars with raspberry or apricot, but any kinds of fruit could make beautiful bars. Personally I think a little tart fruit in bars is the best to balance with the sweet rich nutty base and crumble. Like this time, I usually mix fresh lemon juice and zest in the commercial preserve/jam to make sure it's tart enough. J said "it's tart!" Great, that was my goal!
