Spicy Ground Beef Tacos

These were spicy ground beef tacos.

It was our latest slow cooking adventure! We have't tried to make taco filling with slow cooker and we still had several corn tortillas from the delicious shrimp tacos, it was suitable to pick the recipe of spicy ground beef taco filling from our slow cook book, America's test kitchen's Slow Cooker Revolution. The filling was nice although it wasn't spicy. The recipe didn't call for any fresh chilis but 1/4 cup of chili powder. Our Penzey's chili powder contains cayenne pepper, but the filling didn't provide heat. That was ok for me who don't care about spicy food much, anyway.
Toppings were simple: homemade fresh tomato salsa, chopped romaine lettuce, Cotija cheese, and fresh lemon juice. The tacos were delicious. One problem was corn tortillas were too fragile to hold the filling and toppings without falling apart even when I doubled them. It seems like almost impossible to eat tacos neatly.
