Classic Green Bean Casserole with Summer Green Beans 2017

This was classic green bean casserole with summer green beans 2017!

Luckily we met handsome green beans at our local farm stand like the last year. It may become our annual tradition to make green bean casserole with fresh beans.

The recipe was from Cook's Illustrated as usual with a few changes like replacing heavy cream with half & half and skipping butter in the bread crumb topping.

The result was fine except for a little too crunchiness of beans. These beans were strongly built, not like those shrinking fragile often found in the grocery store. I should have boiled beans longer!
