Christmas Appetizers 2018

These were appetizers for our Christmas 2018.

Italy was the theme of this Christmas that J decided without any specific reason. We have been already on the right track with delicious Panettone. Keeping the theme in mind, J carefully chose three kinds of cheese for appetizers. Surely, all of them were from Italy, I thought first. Later I found out two of them were actually Italian: Cacio de Roma (a semisoft, creamy, sheep's milk cheese) and La Tur (3 milk - cow sheep goat - soft ripened cheese by Caseificio Dell'alta Langa). The other was Emmi Le Maréchal made by Le Maréchal in Switzerland. That was fine since we weren't so strictly complying to the theme anyway. Deliciousness was the top priority. All cheese met the criteria beautifully. We also served assorted olives and La Quercia's Applewood Smoked Prosciutto. We kept the appetizers simple and light so that we all could enjoy dinner. I confess, however, that I ate cheese and baguette more than I should because they were tasty and I was hungry. I started cooking dinner, hoping my appetite would come back soon. To be continued...
