Tre Marie's Traditional Panettone
This was Tre Marie's traditional Panettone.
I have been dreaming about having a Christmas with Panettone. This year it have come true by myself by ordering one. In fact, it was a difficult process because there were many brands and flavors of Panettone available. Since this was my first Panettone picking, I chose one made in Italy, preferably Milan where Panettone originally came from. While I was very interested in Panettone with sweetened chestnuts, I decided to stick to traditional style - raisins and candied orange peels. After researching for a while, I found Tre Marie.
According to the supplier's website, Tre Marie is the only brand has been around since 1150! Tre Marie's website says they make Panettone in the 72 hours of traditional processing method, which means that three different doughs rise for three long days. Excellent quality ingredients are only used. It sounded unmatched.
The Panettone, which was 1030g (2 pounds 4.37 oz) in weight, was pretty huge. Was it too huge for two of us? Such a worry was a waste of time. The bread was amazingly soft and airy. It tasted lovely. Not too sweet. It was like jumbo brioche with raisins and a hint of citrus. It was no problem for us to have a generous slice even immediately after a substantial dinner.
Tre Marie's Panettone will be always welcome to our future Christmas. Now I am also curious about other brands, too. My new dream is to taste various Panettone to find out which is the best.
