Mother's Day Dinner 2017

This was a family dinner on Mother's day this year.

We visited J's parents. When we got there, we all went to their local Wegmans store together and picked up whatever looked nice. Appetizers were two kinds of cheese. J chose one and his farther did the other. Both cheese were very nice. And several kinds of olives and dolmas that J's mother picked.
Dinner was surf and turf cook out. The surf part was scallops wrapped with bacons. Who doesn't like grilled scallops wrapped with bacons?!
And beef steaks for turf. Tenderloin for J's parents and dry-aged ribeye for me and J. J's farther was the grill master as usual. Everything was perfectly cooked!
J's mother made two kinds of potato salads. Both were pretty good! She also served pickled beets that we gave her last Christmas. She kindly shared some beets with us. The beets were very well spiced and pickled. Glad to know it was a great product and she liked it.
To complete the dinner, there was a dessert. J's mother's pick - Wegmans' blueberry cinnamon coffee cake! It was Mother's day. She can get whatever she wants!
I hope she got all she wanted. Happy Mother's Day!
