Lunch @ The Rattle Owl in York

We had a lunch at The Rattle Owl a casual dining restaurant near Micklegate in York a couple of weeks ago. The lunch menu was a collection of small plates. We ordered all and shared them. 

Soda Bread & Acorn Dairy Butter

Ham Hock Terrine, Rhubarb, Pistachio Biscotti.

Beetroot Cured Almon, Dressed Fennel, Horseradish, Dill, Rye Bread.

Broccoli Veloute, Waldorf.

Wild Garlic Agnolotti, Celeriac, Sorrel.

Cod, Cauliflower puree, Capers, Mussels.

Each plate looked pretty and tasted nice, but so small! Dividing each half to share wasn't a wise idea. None of the plates became memorable...

For desserts, there were two kinds of plates: Set Lemon Curd, Marshmallow, Green Tea, Lemon Thyme Ice Cream, and Peanut Butter Parfait, Lime Jelly, Caramelized Banana. I had the former; J had the latter. We didn't share them this time. 

Lessons learned: Do not try to share their lunch plate if you would like to taste it!
