Ootoya in NYC

One of our dinner in NYC was at a Japanese restaurant, Ootoya.

The Tokyo-based restaurant serves Japanese home style dishes like fried pork, or Tonkatsu that J ordered and cold buckwheat noodle with grated yam, or Tororo-soba that I had.
The dishes were fine. It wasn't Americanized. The place was apparently popular. We arrived at the restaurant about 15 minutes before the open hour, but some people had already waited at the entrance. Closer to the open hour, more people came. The entrance was chaos! It was nice to see Japanese home style foods are well-accepted in such a competitive city!
