Stumptown Coffee - Colombia La Esperanza & Costa Rica Montes De Oro
These were our second order with Stumptown Coffee.
Like the first time, we bought two kinds of beans: Colombia La Esperanza and Costa Rica Montes De Oro. We brewed coffee with a French press with the new beans. First, I didn't find a significant taste difference between both. Second, both beans tasted somehow much weaker than the beans that we first ordered. So, we ground beans a little finer next time, but still weak. Then, we brewed the finer grounded beans with hot water at slightly below boiling point instead of our usual 205 F, and brewed a few minutes extra longer than usual 4 minutes.
The result was improved, but still weak. I guess these beans were medium-roasted for a mellow and aromatic joy. I am used to strong espresso-type coffee, so unfortunately such weak coffee tasted watery for me. J usually prefers strong coffee. Perhaps we will order Stumptown's French Roast next time?
