Valentine Hearty Fisherman's Stew

This was Hearty Fisherman's Stew on the Valentine's Day.

We picked a new recipe from our new cooking book, America's Test Kitchen - Slow Cooker Revolution Volume 2. We have been enjoying slow-cooking by adapting several recipes in Volume 1. I happened to know there was Vol. 2 and couldn't help but buying a copy. The recipe for this seafood stew was easy-prep one indeed. We added extra shrimps as well as scallops that the recipe didn't use. Basically we slow-cooked the stew part first (4.5 hours). Then we added seafood and cooked more (additional 30 minutes). The stew turned out really well! It had complex deep flavors from relatively simple ingredients. We enjoyed the cozy dinner time with a big bowl of this flavorful hearty stew, a nice piece of rustic Italian bread, a small bowl of green and tomato salad with French feta, warm fireplace and our favorite TV program. And of course, a dessert was coming... To be continued.
