Saranda, again

It didn't take too long for us to revisit Saranda. We stopped by at our new favorite restaurant for lunch in the late October last year. My starter was Melitzanosalata - a light blend of smoked aubergine, olive oil, garlic and lemon juice, served with pita bread and salad. The eggplant dip tasted fresh and buttery. Also very garlicy! I didn't expect the generous portion of salad came together, which was a big bonus for me! J had Sardeles - deep-fried sardines served with skordalia. The fish was very tasty. It must have been my first time to see skrodilia, or Greek style garlic dip. The theme of our starters was garlicy.
We both had the same main dish: Lamb Kleftiko - tender shoulder of lamb on the bone, roasted slowly in the oven with potatoes and flavored with lemon juice and oregano. "An old favourite & the chef's speciality!," according to the menu. It was served super hot! Very flavorful, but...sadly too salty for us. I guess we are more salt-sensitive than average although the dish was clearly over-salted. It was served with orzo with creamy tomato sauce. Actually it was a bit salty, too. It also had nice texture and flavor, though.
Still we liked the restaurant very much. Our starters as well as dishes at our last visit were't as salty as this particular dish. It depends on dish or maybe day? We'll go back and figure it out!
