Brownies from Love Brownies in Ilkley

When we arrived at Ilkley for lunch, the first thing we saw was a shop with a sign that said "Little Bakery." The shop was just a few steps away from where we parked our car. We decided to check it out because why not. The little shop specialized in brownies as you could guess from the shop's name "Love Brownies."

There were little pieces of three kinds of brownies on the counter for tasting. We tried one. We tried another flavor. Then, we tried the other. They were so good that we couldn't help but taste all three. We left the shop with five assorted brownies: fresh raspberry, caramel fudge, double chocolate, chocolate orange and wild mint.

Brownies shouldn't be too caky or too dry or too crumbly or too heavy. Their brownies were ideal - crispy thin surface and fudgy-melting middle. They tasted wonderful, too. Heavenly chocolate-y! Each flavor was well-balanced. My favorite could be one with gooey caramel.

According to their website, they make each brownie individually by hand, using the best and most ethical and organic ingredients they can find, especially by working with local farms. Of course, cacao is not grown in Yorkshire, so they stick to Fairtrade as well as organic. Beside one in Ilkley, they have shops in Angel, London and West Kirby, Merseyside, and two more are coming soon. They also sell brownies online via their website. I understand they don't want to keep such delicious brownies within such a small town hidden in the Wharfe Valley, at the southern end of the Yorkshire Dales while I hope that they keep the quality.

We took a walk in the downtown of Ilkley, we saw a row of cherry (I guess) trees blooming beautifully. We also found a cute indoor plant shop there. Ilkely surprised us in good ways!
