Crema di Pistacchio by Sicilia Tentazioni
I didn't forget that we bought Crema di Pistacchio in Venice, Italy in last November. I just waited for a right moment to open the jar of pretty green spread made in Sicily.
In a sunny weekend morning, there was a fluffy pumpkin seed and poppy seed bread from our favorite Manna Bakery. We also had a fresh mango and excellent Japanese green tea that my sister sent us as our birthday gift. It was a pretty much relaxing breakfast. It sounded appropriate to remember our wonderful trip to Venice.
The Sicilian pistachio cream was made by Sicilia Tentazioni. I am not familiar with the maker, but apparently they produce various items, from sweets to savory, with Sicilian ingredients. We found the jar at a little grocery store in Venice. Pistachio nuts are relatively expensive and some products made with pistachio sometimes don't actually contain much pistachio. Sometimes almonds or other nuts are used as a filler. In this case, 40 percent of the spread was pistachio and no artificial color was added. It sounded decent.
The spread was very creamy and really tasty. In addition to lovely delicate nutty flavor from Pistachio, I found flavors like white chocolate as well as, interestingly, Matcha, Japanese green tea. I loved it so much. During the breakfast, I ate at least 1/3 of the jar. The jar was gone within a couple of few days.
