Classic White Bread

This was Classic White Bread. This funny mushroom shape made us laugh.

The bread loaf had a huge head.

It had beautiful deep golden crust.

And it was so cute and cartoonish looking.

I adapted a recipe from the Sono Baking Company Cookbook by John Barraicelli. The bread pleased us with its amazingly soft chewy texture and great yeasty and buttery flavor. Splendid!

But the picture of classic white bread in the book wasn't like this at all. I mean, there was no "mushroom cap." Our bread rose out of control.
