Great Sage

We had a lunch date at an organic vegetarian restaurant. We started with a glass of green, Pineapple Kale - organic pineapple, kale and ginger. The restaurant seemed to add this on the menu. It was very refreshing.

We shared a hummus platter. We both liked their dolma! Hummus and kalamata olive tapenade were also very good.

My entree was green lentil and pumpkin burger. Tempeh bacon was a bit salty, but I liked the flavor and texture of the pumpkin seed crusted vegetable burger made with green lentils, pumpkin, quinoa, green cabbage, caramelized onion, carrot, and spices. It was a bulky burger! I kept eating without words because I could not let go of my hands to secure all burger, tomatoes, greens, etc between buns.

J ordered Chipotle 'Chicken' Salad Wrap - 'chicken' (well, not chicken), black beans, red onion, cilantro, roasted corn with a chiotle mustard dressing topped with spinach in a grilled spinach wrap. Gladly he enjoyed it! Crunchy sweet potato chips were a side for both of our dish.

We took a slice of their signature carrot cake back home, and enjoyed it over tea in the afternoon. I liked the frosting of vegan 'cream cheese', which tasted something like cream cheese, but very light and smooth. Hmm, what was it made from?
