Fresh Squid Ink Tagliatelle with Clams & Scallops

This was fresh squid ink tagliatelle with clams and scallops.

It was Day 2 of fresh pasta from Cucina Al Volo at Union Market! The pasta of the day was squid ink. Very dark indeed. It was a natural idea to match the pasta with something from the ocean... our favorite simple clam and white wine sauce! We enjoyed adding scallops last time and this was a sort of a special dinner with such a special pasta, we drove to Wegmans and got fresh scallops. Yes, the dish looked a little shocking because of the color, but the pasta was delicate with a subtle flavor of the sea. It wasn't fishy at all. Because the sauce was very light, we tasted the pasta very well and enjoyed the silky texture. It was another nice change from our regular clam pasta!
