Sushi Q

We tried a new Sushi restaurant, Sushi Q in Elkridge, MD.

The restaurant has been getting many positive reviews on Yelp and the location wasn't not too far, so I wanted to check it out. Simple Nigiri and Maki rolls that we usually order were not so bad.
The restaurant has a long list of their special rolls. We were curious. That was wrong. Sometimes special rolls are too creative and covered with sweet or spicy or creamy sauce which is not usually seen on traditional sushi in Japan. We are not a fan of mayo or mayo-based sauce over sushi particularly. We tried not to pick any rolls with the word "mayo" on the menu carefully, but the menu obviously didn't disclose all ingredients. Unfortunately all of the three kinds of special rolls we ordered came with mayo-based sauce.

We could tell those rolls were well-prepared and well-presented. Look at the fancy light-up plate! However not for us because of mayo... What did we do then? We, especially I ate almost all of them anyway. We left only two pieces because we simply got full. Well, we could have avoid the mayo experience. Their seafood and rice wasn't bad, and the service wasn't bad either. But honestly we felt our local Japanese restaurant is better. Most importantly we should strictly stick to simple traditional Japanese-style sushi from now on.
