Demeltorte from Demel

This gracefully decorated cake, Demeltorte was J's pick at Demel. The name didn't describe what kind of the cake would be. So, it was a mystery. According to the name, I guessed that the cake must be Demel's signature cake. How exciting! The take-away packaging was adorable, by the way.

The chocolate glaze was super thin, made with smooth milk chocolate. The inside was a lovely nutty moist cake. Candied violate toppings added a lovely floral tone, which enhanced the cake's flavor beautifully. I found a description of Demeltorte on Demel's official website - "juicy walnut-chocolate mass with a thin layer of apricot jam topped with the finest milk chocolate glazing and candied violets." Oh, I didn't know apricot jam was hidden there!
