Marrons Glaces

These were Marrons Glaces, candied chestnut with rich brandy flavor.

This was another gift from my parents in Japan. Marrons Glaces have been one of my favorite sweets. Unlike France and Italy, I still don't know why chestnuts are not common ingredients in desserts in the US. My mother knows I like baking, so she thought I could add these Marrons Glasses to my baking goods like butter cake or mix in whipped cream for a rolled cake, etc. That would be wonderful!
But I might simply eat them as they are. They are precious little gems.
